WMPP OFFERS DAY-LONG NRA BASIC PISTOL TRAINING COURSE

Western Maine Property Protection, a State of Maine licensed and bonded security company, will offer an all-day NRA Basic Pistol Training on July 25th. This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This class will satisfy the requirements for obtaining a Maine or New Hampshire concealed weapons permit.
NRA Basic Pistol Training is 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate. The class is $100 and registration for the all-day July session closes July 19th. The course will run from 9am-5pm with lunch included. Class tuition includes all course materials and the use of all firearms and ammunition. The course will be held at Oxford Fish & Game Club House ATPain Road, Oxford, ME 04270.

Western Maine Property Protection now offers training courses, including NRA Basic Pistol Training. This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. Western Maine Property Protection is lead by Joshua White, Chief Security Officer, who has over 15 years of public safety experience. Joshua is a licensed EMT-Intermediate with experience as a firemen, police officer, and court security officer. He has completed training from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy; Lethal Force Institute; Armament Systems and Procedures, Inc.; GLOCK, Inc.; and Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department.
Coffin is a local police officer with over ten years in law enforcement and has a citation for bravery. In addition to his Patrol Officer duties, he is also a trainer for new patrol officers. Coffin is an interactive use of force instructor and also a certified firearms instructor, urban rifle instructor, and a TAZER instructor.
